Wreaths Camp Nelson supports the efforts of the Friends of Lexington Fisher House, Inc. at the VA Medical Center on Leestown Road in Lexington, Kentucky. The Fisher House serves veterans’ families by providing a safe, supportive and loving home away from home, at no cost, while their loved one is receiving treatment at the Lexington VAMC.
For each $17 wreath sponsored, $5 will be donated to Friends of Lexington Fisher House, Inc. Thank you so much for supporting the Friends of Lexington Fisher House, Inc. and Wreaths Across America!
A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. There are 72 Fisher Houses located on 24 military installations and 29 VA medical centers. The program began in 1990, and has offered more than six million days of lodging to more than 305,000 families.
